Christmas Concert: 21st December in Drom Community Hall

This year, the children from Junior Infants to Sixth Class will take part in a Christmas Concert on Wednesday, 21st December at 7.15pm  in Drom Community Hall.

We will start with a musical recital lead by our music teacher Ms. Avril Kinane.

Junior Infants, Senior Infants and First Class will then perform their play ‘Elfis and the Sleigh Riders’. In this rockin’ play, Elfis has to do everything in his power to bring his band, The Sleigh Riders, back together after the members argue over who deserves to sing a solo.

Following this, Second, Third and Fourth take to the stage with their play ‘Belle, The Christmas Tree’.

Fifth & Sixth are last to take to the stage with their play ‘ Christmas Stars’.  In this play, two angels (Reub and Ish) narrate comically as we go back in time to the first nativity, with God holding auditions for the key parts. Everyone does well apart from Herod who reckons he should be the King of Kings, and isn’t impressed when the part goes to a baby! There’s plenty of fun as well as some poignant moments as the story unfolds and, after several hiccups, everything works out for the best.

Please help your child / children to learn their lines and to gather  together the items they need for their play.

We are also asking parents / guardians to become involved by helping with the entrance table, the shop and of course the clean up. If you can be of any help, please contact the school.

The students are working incredibly hard on their respective plays so we would encourage you to ask as many people as possible to join us on Wednesday, 21st. We look forward to seeing you there and promise you a night of entertainment and fun!
