A Chairde, we are delighted to be celebrating World Book Day in Drom NS on Thursday 1st March 2018. Over the last 22 years, World Book Day has become firmly established as Ireland’s biggest annual event promoting the enjoyment of books and reading. The main aim is to encourage children to explore the pleasure of books and reading by providing them with an opportunity to have a book of their own. This may sound like a very simple idea, but unfortunately, many children do not have access to books in their homes.
For World Book Day, the Department of Education and Skills has provided a token for €1.50 to all students in Ireland to purchase one of the following 10 books or to receive a discount of €1.50 on the purchase of a book. See tokens for terms and conditions.
Along with those titles there is an additional book available in Ireland only. Published by O’Brien Press, Rugby Roar by Gerard Siggins will be available from 20th February 2018.
